She is among the most popular athletes in American the history of sports. Only six women have won all five World Cup alpine ski events. She has won more than 82 World Cup titles. A world-class skier and one of the most experienced ski racers, she has made the decision to quit after the World Championships that will be held in Sweden. Her retirement came after a long list of illnesses. Her retirement was announced via social media.
