BellamyBellamy Young was born Amy Maria Young in the month of February, 1970. [1] She is an American actress, singer in the field of production, acting, and singing who is best known for her character as Melody "Mellie," Grant in ABC's Scandal, 2012-2018. The actress was awarded this year's Critics' choice Television Award for best supporting actress in the drama series. In 2019, she was a part of the cast as Prodigal Son on Fox. Young began her career as an actor in the theater. Her Broadway debut came in 1997 as Mary The Life. The Life. Alongside making her Broadway debut, she has been seen off Broadway as Mary in Stephen Sondheim's musical Merrily You Roll Along (1994) as well as Randy Newman's Faust (95-1996). [3][10] She first appeared on TV in the year 1995 in the role of her character, Dr. Courtney Evans, in an ongoing role on the NBC soap series Another World. In addition, she guest-starred in the show Law & Order in 1997 and 1998 in two roles. Her film debut came on the big screen in 1999. She played a minor role as a minor character in Black and White, a crime drama. She later appeared on numerous independent films. At the start of the 2000s, she was invited to guest-star roles on a number of comedy and drama shows on television, including The Drew Carey Show, The X Files, ER, Frasier, The West Wing, NCIS, Medium, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Two and a Half Men, Supernatural, Drop Dead Diva, and Castle. From 2000 to in 2011, Young appeared in more than 30 guest appearances on television programs.
